SUP paddles

A handy, well-balanced paddle is an important tool that must be made with care and attention. It is the most important thing a canoer has. A Lahnakoski paddle will serve you faithfully offshore and on the open sea.

A wooden paddle is pleasant to the touch: it feels warm even in cold waters, and the material is flexible, rolling with the movement.

Composite paddles, by comparison, are made to resist wear and tear. They are at their best in whitewater canoeing where contact with rock is impossible to avoid.

Storing and maintenance of wooden paddles

When not in use, store in a dry place away from direct sunligt. You should check the condition of your paddle regularly. If the paddle is fine but the varnish is damaged, please remove the varnish and apply 2-3 layers of urethane varnish.

Tips for selecting right size Canoe paddle

When you are sitting in the canoe and the blade of the paddle is completely under water, the handle of the paddle should be between your eye and shoulder line.

If you do not have your canoe handy when you are buying a paddle, it is advisable to choose a paddle that reaches to your chin. The most ordinary lengths are from 140 to 160 cm.
